Please join us for this breakfast symposium in the emerging field of Cardio- Oncology. Prof Bogda Koczwara will chair an exciting session of relevant case-based discussions, joined by a national panel of experts in the fields of oncology, cardiology and cardiooncology research. The symposium aims to highlight some of current challenges for cancer patients including risk stratification and mitigation across the age spectrum and breadth of treatment exposures, challenges in implementation of best practice guidelines as well as national research initiatives. The evolving role of this sub-speciality and how best to embed cardio-oncology services into clinical practice will be also highlighted.

This year we mark 10 years since the approval of the first immunotherapy – ipilimumab for advanced melanoma in Australia. Since then, there have been a number of advances in the cancer immunotherapy landscape that have improved patient outcomes across a number of cancer types1.
In this symposium we aim to explore the impact of immunotherapy and combination immunotherapy on patient outcomes in Australia (Melanoma, Renal Cell Carcinoma, Lung Cancer and Mesothelioma) and discuss the issues impacting patient survivorship after treatment.
