Cancer patients receiving novel therapies, including immunotherapy, experience a range of treatment-related side-effects and long-term toxicities. With much of patient care now being provided in an outpatient setting, caregivers are playing an increasingly more critical role in patients’ ongoing care. For many, this includes monitoring and reporting of treatment-related side effects. While the physical, emotional and financial burden associated with caregiving has been well documented, the impacts specific to caring for patients undergoing immunotherapy treatments are only just starting to emerge. This presentation will provide an overview of available evidence on caregiving in the context of immunotherapy.
