Nicolette L Monkel
Nicolette has recently completed the Bachelor of Psychological Sciences (Honours) at the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP). After completing her degree, she is interested in a career in psycho-oncology and would like to further her psychological knowledge by undertaking a Masters in Clinical Psychology. The completion of her current degree will be a second degree for Nicolette. She was inspired to move from a career in marketing to learn more about psycho-oncology after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Seeing how well patients were cared for during her mother's treatment, Nicolette was intrigued to know who cared for the carers. It was this question that led her to her honours area of research on burnout within oncology.
