Stephen Chin

Stephen is a Radiation Oncologist at Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre with sub-specialty interests in urological and lower gastrointestinal cancers and palliative radiotherapy. He also leads the development of MRI for urological, lower gastrointestinal, lung, breast, haematological and soft tissue tumours. He graduated from the University of Sydney and completed his training in Radiation Oncology at the Northern New South Wales training network, based at Westmead Hospital. He subsequently undertook a clinical research fellowship at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester, United Kingdom where he specialised in the management of urological cancers including external beam radiotherapy, systemic therapy and prostate brachytherapy and was involved with the implementation of the Elekta Unity MR-Linac. On his return from the UK, he worked at Westmead Hospital as a general and thoracic radiation oncologist. Stephen joined Austin Health in 2020 and consults at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre. His research interests include MRI in radiotherapy, advanced image guided radiotherapy, and prostate, bladder and rectal cancer. He is the deputy chair of the Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Group Genitourinary Working Party and is actively involved in registrar education. He is passionate about providing evidence based, patient centred care.
