Cancer Pharmacist Practitioner Development: Exploring pathways for today, tomorrow and into the future

eviQ and eviQ Education are national programs delivered by the Cancer Institute NSW. This session will outline existing and emerging professional development pathways and resources available for cancer pharmacists in Australia and provide guidance on how these can be integrated into practice. This will be an interactive session aimed at pharmacists of all experience levels with the opportunity to take part in conversations that will shape the delivery of a nationally recognised cancer pharmacy clinical training pathway.

Talking to our Patients About Complementary Therapies: The Hope, the Hype and the Forest

Complementary therapy use is high in cancer patients and as pharmacists we are often the person tasked with looking at these agents to identify if they pose concerns. Many will have had the situation of being presented with a bottle or website promising the world to the patient, but how do we best serve our patient and their therapy without removing all hope. This interactive session will discuss what are the concerns with complementary therapies and cancer treatment, where to go for quality information, and how to talk to your patients about options with complementary therapies.

Lung Cancer and Advances in Immunotherapy

This education session will look at the changing landscape of lung cancer therapy with the introduction of immunotherapy and the challenges of adding or combining these therapies with conventional lung cancer therapies and what are the gains with these new therapies.
