Malnutrition and skeletal muscle depletion are prevalent in patients with head and neck cancer (HNC), negatively impacting clinical, cost and patient-centred outcomes. This presentation aims to provide an overview of a translational nutritional research program comprising the latest in evidence synthesis, dissemination and implementation of best-practice nutrition care of patients with HNC. The presentation will highlight opportunities for innovations in implementation of research evidence into practice and scale-up of dietitian-led interventions. This program has achieved knowledge, health and economic impact, demonstrating the value of a systematic approach to evidence-based nutrition care and improving outcomes for patients with HNC.
