Sue is currently the Research Manager and Research Governance Officer for Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS). She provides strategic advice to the THHS Executive on issues and associated changes to current legislative and regulatory frameworks regarding all research activity. Sue has a remit to increase THHS's capacity to conduct high quality health research, focused on the needs of patients and aligned with the THHS Strategic plan. She has also been on several NHMRC advisory panels working towards streamlining research ethics and governance processes.
However, this presentation will be a personal one, describing the breast cancer research journey from the shock of diagnosis to treatment from a personal consumer perspective. What was important, what wasn’t, what helped with coping, navigating working and treatment etc.
